Families, Kids, and Household Reading: What We Offer Now and What’s Coming

Families, Kids, and Household Reading on Bright Haven

Bright Haven is designed to make clean romance simple and enjoyable for individuals and families. This page explains what is available today for households, what is planned next, and the easiest ways to keep reading preferences consistent across devices.

Can My Family Share Bright Haven?

Bright Haven currently does not offer a dedicated family plan with multiple household logins under one subscription.

That said, many households still use Bright Haven successfully by choosing one of the options below based on what works best for them.

Common household options

  • One shared account used on family devices
  • Separate accounts for adults/teens with different reading preferences
  • A free plan for a teen while an adult uses a paid plan

Can I Set Permanent Child Filters?

Permanent child filters are not available yet.

Bright Haven’s long-term goal is to provide better household controls, including more durable profiles and filter settings. For now, filters can be applied while browsing to help you find age-appropriate titles.

Best Practices for Households (Right Now)

Until family plans and permanent child filters are available, here are the simplest ways to keep things smooth:

1) Use the same email everywhere

Bright Haven currently uses multiple tools (Account, Community, and Reader). Using the same email address across tools helps prevent access issues.

2) Apply filters before browsing together

When helping a teen browse, start in the Library and filter by:

  • Audience (Teen/YA, when applicable)
  • Peppers (romance intensity)
  • Content levels (profanity, violence, substances)
  • Sensitive themes (exclude topics you want to avoid)

3) Choose “household-friendly” discovery habits

A few simple habits make it easier to keep reading choices consistent:

  • Start from a filtered view rather than browsing the full catalog
  • Keep filters tighter for younger readers
  • Avoid opening “More Info” if you want to avoid spoilers (use filters instead)

What’s Coming

Bright Haven is actively building toward a more unified experience, including improvements that will reduce login confusion and help families manage reading preferences more easily.

As updates roll out, we will share the latest changes in the Community and through announcements.
