Reader App Power Tools: Search, “More Info,” Table of Contents, Book Search, Notes and Highlights
Bright Haven Reader Power Tools (Search, More Info, TOC, Notes, and Highlights)
Once you are comfortable in the Bright Haven Reader, these tools will help you read faster, find what you need, and make your books feel more personal: search, More Info, table of contents, in-book navigation, and notes/highlights.
Search Within the Reader (Find Titles Fast)
If your Bookshelf is growing, search is the quickest way to locate a book.
Use Reader Search for:
- book titles
- author names
- series names
- keywords you remember
Tips for better results
- Use fewer words (short title fragments work best)
- Try the author last name if a title does not appear
- Confirm you are signed in with the same email you used to subscribe
“More Info” (Ratings, Themes, and Book Details)
Most books include a More Info section that can display:
- content notes (where available)
- sensitive themes (where available)
- basic publication and format details
Spoiler note: Some theme information can reveal story direction. If you prefer to avoid spoilers, use filters first, then open More Info only when needed.
Table of Contents (TOC) and Chapter Navigation
For eBooks and audiobooks, the Table of Contents helps you move quickly through the book.
Common TOC uses:
- jump to a specific chapter
- resume where you left off
- re-read a favorite scene
- skip to the next section in an audiobook
In-Book Search (Find a Scene or Quote)
If you remember a phrase, location, or character name, in-book search can help you find it without scrolling.
Best use cases:
- find a character introduction
- locate a favorite quote
- revisit a key moment
- track a recurring theme
Bookmarks (Save Your Place)
Bookmarks are ideal for:
- marking cliffhanger moments
- saving scenes you want to revisit
- keeping track of multiple spots in one book
If you bounce between chapters or like to re-read favorite moments, bookmarks are a simple upgrade.
Notes and Highlights (Make It Yours)
Notes and highlights help you personalize your reading experience.
Highlights
Use highlights to mark:
- favorite quotes
- sweet moments
- funny lines
- meaningful spiritual or emotional takeaways
Notes
Use notes when you want to:
- write your reaction to a scene
- track a favorite character arc
- remember a quote you want to share later
Your Reading Data (My Data)
Some Reader features may include a My Data section where you can view or manage saved reading information such as notes and highlights.
If you do not see My Data on your device, that may be due to version differences or ongoing feature improvements.
Quick Troubleshooting
“My notes/highlights are not showing.”
- Make sure you are signed in with the same email you used previously
- Refresh or restart the app
- Check if the book is fully downloaded (sometimes content loads more reliably offline)
“I don’t see the same menus as someone else.”
Reader controls can vary slightly by device and version. If you tell us your device (iPhone/Android/tablet), we can point you to the right place.
