The Best Ways to Find Books
Bright Haven gives you several ways to find your next read.
The best option depends on whether you already know what you are looking for, or whether you want to browse by genre, trope, theme, mood, series, or author.
Use Filters in the App
The Bright Haven app now includes built-in filters that help you quickly narrow your options and discover exactly what you are in the mood for.
You can filter by:
- genre
- subgenre
- spice level
- themes
- series
- author
- and more
This is the best option when:
- you want to browse new books
- you are looking for a specific type of story
- you want recommendations based on mood or theme
Example:
Looking for a clean small-town cowboy romance with low spice? Use filters instead of guessing search terms.
Search by Title
If you already know the title, this is usually the fastest way to find a specific book.
Tips:
- try a shorter version of the title, usually 1–3 words
- remove extra words like “the,” “a,” or “and” if needed
Example:
Search “Ever After” instead of “The Ever After Promise.”
Search by Author
Author searches work especially well if:
- you are looking for a full series
- you want to browse everything by one author
Tips:
- try the author’s last name only
- use a partial name if you are unsure of spelling
Search by Keywords
If you only remember part of the book, keyword search can help.
Try searching by:
- setting
- trope
- character type
- holiday
- theme
- description keywords
Examples:
- Regency
- small town
- ranch
- Christmas
- fake dating
Tip:
Keep keywords broad and simple. One strong keyword usually works better than a long phrase.

Make sure you are using the latest Bright Haven app
The old Reader app has been replaced with a new Bright Haven app experience.
Confirm you are signed in with the correct email
Your access is tied to the email used for your subscription.
Try fewer words
Use a short title fragment or the author’s last name.
Use filters instead of search
Sometimes browsing by genre or theme is faster than searching by title.
Check spelling
If you are unsure, search by a partial word or broader keyword.
If a title still does not appear, it may not be available in the app yet.
Common Search Issues (And How to Fix Them)
“I know the title, but it is not showing up.”
Try searching for only one or two key words from the title. Remove words like “the,” “a,” or “and.”
“I do not remember the title.”
Search by author, genre, trope, setting, holiday, theme, or another keyword you remember.
“I found the book on the website. Do I have to search again in the app?”
No. Click Open Reader on the website and it will take you directly to that book inside the Bright Haven app.
“The app is only showing some books.”
Make sure you are signed in with the same email you used at checkout. Your access is tied to your subscription email.
“I searched a long phrase and nothing came up.”
Try one strong keyword instead. Shorter searches usually work better.
